Ms. Akbar-Nasution joined ABNP in 1996 and became a partner in 2001. She is a law graduate of the Faculty of Law, Atma Jaya Catholic University in 1992, majoring in Civil Law. In 2001, she earned Master of Laws/LLM. from Bond University, Gold Coast, Australia, majoring in Corporate and Commercial Law.
She handles corporate matters for international and domestic clients in complex corporate matters including asset acquisition, merger and joint venture projects, commercial transactions, including banking, aviation, mining, property, maritime, shipping, information, technology, intellectual property rights and also conducting legal due diligence concerning legal compliance.
She also handles a broad range of dispute including money laundering, unfair competition and anti-monopoly cases, corruption case, civil case, criminal case and administrative case, from the first stage of proceeding held at District Court, Administrative Court, Corruption Crime Court and Commercial Court to the appeal stage of proceeding held at High Court and Supreme Court. She also has wide experience in handling dispute by means of negotiation and arbitration.
In terms of criminal case and corruption case, she has been extensively involved in the examination conducted by the Police, General Attorney and Corruption Eradication Commission (Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi - KPK). Ms. Akbar-Nasution's practice area are general corporate, including general business transaction, foreign and domestic investment, family, insurance, banking, corruption, malpractice, information technology and e-commerce.
